Preparation Information

Couscous, Uncooked 1/3 cup 2/3 cup 1 box
Water, Broth or Juice 1/3 cup 3/4 cup 1 1/2 cups
Salt (optional) pinch 1/4 tsp 1/2 tsp
Olive Oil or Butter 1 tsb 2 tsp 1 Tbsp

Preparation Directions:

  1. INSERT RANGE TOP DIRECTIONS HERE
  2. In medium saucepan, bring water, salt (optional) and olive oil or butter to just a boil.
  3. Stir in couscous; cover.
  4. Remove from heat; let stand 5minutes.
  5. Fluff couscous lightly with fork before serving.

Microwave Directions:

  1. In round 2-quart microwaveable glass casserole, combine water and salt (optional).
  2. Microwave at HIGH until boiling, about 1-2 minutes for 1 serving, 4-5 minutes for 2 servings, or 6-7 minutes for the entire box.*
  3. Add couscous and olive oil or butter; stir. Cover; let stand 5 minutes.
  4. Fluff couscous lightly with fork before serving.
  5. * Microwave ovens may vary. Adjust times as needed.

Low Fat Directions

  1. Plain Wheat Couscous is low in fat as prepared following package directions.

High Altitude Preparation

  1. At high altitudes, prepare entire box as directed above except increase water to 2 cups.
