Preparation Information

Range Top Directions:

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring 1-3/4 cups water and 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter just to a boil.
  2. Slowly stir in rice and contents of Spice Sack. Return to a boil.
  3. Cover; reduce heat to low. Simmer 20-25 minutes or until most of water is absorbed.
  4. Fluff rice lightly with fork before serving.
  5. Makes 2 cups

Microwave Directions:

  1. In round 2-quart microwaveable glass casserole, combine rice, contents of Spice Sack, 2-1/4 cups water and 1 tablespoon butter or olive oil.
  2. Cover, microwave at HIGH 18 to 22 minutes or until most of water is absorbed.*
  3. Fluff rice lightly with fork before serving.
  4. * Microwave ovens may vary. Adjust times as needed.

Low Fat Directions:

High Altitude Preparation

  1. Add 2 additional tablespoons water: Simmer 18 to 22 minutes.
