Preparation Information

Range Top Directions:

  1. In a 2-quart saucepan, bring 2-1/2 cups water and grains to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat to medium-low.
  3. Simmer, UNCOVERED, 22 to 24 minutes. Do not stir; a thin layer of water (about 2 to 3 tablespoons) will remain at the end of cook time.
  4. Remove from heat. Add 1 tablespoon butter or olive oil and contents of Spice Sack; stir.
  5. COVER; let stand 2 to 3 minutes for sauce to thicken. Stir before serving.
  6. Makes about 2-1/2 cups

Cooking Tips:

  1. Accurate heat level and cooking with lid on are important for best results.
  2. DO NOT MICROWAVE!
