Stripes

This elegant napkin fold provides a place for you to tuck a sprig of fragrant herb or a flower. Or, you could display a dinner menu or place card in its folds.

Steps

  1. Fold the napkin in quarters and place it with the open corner (four loose tips) at the top right.
  2. Take the top flap from the top right and roll it down toward the bottom left of the napkin, stopping the roll about midway. Flatten the circular roll with your hand.
  3. Take the next flap from the upper right, fold it back toward you and tuck it under the first fold, to create a second band of equal width.
  4. Take the next flap and do the same as the previous step, being sure to crisply crease each band with your hand.
  5. Fold the right and left edges of the napkin underneath, leaving a three striped rectangular display.
