There is no reason not to make your napkins special, even if you're using napkin rings. This versatile fold keeps napkins looking elegant.

Steps

  1. Start with the napkin folded in quarters with the open corner (four loose tips) facing away from you. Bring the bottom point up to about 2 inches below the top point, creating a triangle.
  2. Turn the napkin over, keeping all points facing away from you.
  3. Take the top two layers of the napkin and fold them down, with about two inches folded over the bottom edge of the napkin, forming a tail.
  4. Fold the left point over about 1/3 of the way across the napkin.
  5. Repeat this process with the right side.
  6. Turn over while rolling into a circular shape and slide into a napkin ring.
