Curry
Cultural or Geographic History
Curry powder is a blend of many spices, usually including coriander, turmeric, cumin and fenugreek and is used widely in savory dishes throughout India and Southeast Asia. Curry Powder was developed by the British, during their colonial rule, who wished to take the taste of Indian food with them when they returned home without having access to the fresh spices readily available in India.
